A re-shoot of M4 from my initial attempt in June, 1999. What a difference one year of experience makes. A larger scope (8 inch vs. 6 inch) and larger aperture (f/4 vs. f/5) seem to figure in the equation. However, moving to a heavier mount, the Losmandy GM 11 also made a difference. My initial attempt can be seen here.

Why a seven minute exposure? High clouds and haze from a nearby forest fire cut short my observation session.
