One of the finest open clusters in the summer sky, M11 contains at least 1000 stars in a quarter-degree circle.
A clear June night at the Observer's Inn in Julian, CA provided this view of this minute dusting of stars in Scutum.
Many of the stars in this cluster are bright giant stars.
